i started my process with a mind map, i decided to do a detailed exciting map letting the movement brief ferment in my mind so i could get a creative outcome for main area that i was going to focus on, exploring all areas of movement which interest me, this lead me to start to explore flight as my initial interest.

Pegasus and Icarus

i started out with some mythology drawings of Icarus and Pegasus as i was interseted in mans early curiosity of flight and how being able to fly was to be seen as god like, thus feeding the appetite to fly more

 i then wanted to get some  primary research so built a variety of paper planes to see how the fly/fall and documented them by videoing them, i have the footage and hope to develop them into a short rota-scope animation soon, i also looked at the way they fell and found some nice patterns that they created while falling which i have gone on to develop more both in 2D and 3D.

i played around with coffee granules on an A4 page trying to mimic the swarms of birds that move in unison and photographed them for a flip book and a got some really interesting shapes that really sparked my imagination!
