Print one day project

We got a one day roject that we could only take photos of clutter and make a small print from it heres what i got...

Getting to grips with print

For this first week i was doing some line drawing on to sheets of perspex and printing them over each other looking at composition and format, some of the prints didnt work but i was getting familiar with the process.

After overlapping the images countless times and seeking advice from my tutors I decided the objects would work better on there own if i put them in delicate setting like objects found and documented. These prints reflected the background story better than the cluttered overlapping prints

Print Elective

Printmaking, is me for next two weeks. We were giving a brief that asked us to look at the space around us and how we change it live in it etc.

I chosre to make my neighbour hood the focal point of my brief. It is getting more and more run down over the years so went out with my camera a took some pretty interesting pics.

Painting Week 2

On the second week of painting we had to had in our replica painting of one of Lucian Freuds paintings, i fond this homework very pleasant and fun to do something like this for a change.

For the whole of the second week we allowed to paint our installations we could only use 3-5 tones which was challenging but i learned alot using these methods. here are the tonal painting that i painted in week 2!

Painting elective

During the next 6 weeks i will be trying out 3 different electives...painting, printmaking and sculpture (2weeks at a time). My first week kicks off with painting!

We were all asked to bring in images of art that gave us a visual buzz..i brought in some of William Turners work, i had seen his work in my Critical and Contextual Studies and it interested me.

We were then intructed to build a 3D installation using materials that we seen in the images..here were my results.

I chose to use hairy materials in my installation and position them in a chaotic form because this was my response to the painting that was basing i on.

On the Friday of the first week we started to paint our installation but we were not allowed to use brushes we couls only use pallette knifes, this was my first time to use a palette knife and i found it kind of limeting but that freed me up  to look at the marks i was creating and how i was moving the paint around the page. This is the pallette knife painting.
